James Joseph Brown (1933-2006) singer, songwriter, musician, and recording artist, was known as "The Godfather of Soul" and "The Hardest-Working Man in Show Business" He is credited with being the originator of "Funk" and is recognized as one of the true giants of 20th century popular music for his both vocals and distinctive dancing. Earlier on, he was the lead singer of the famed Rhythm & Blues vocal group, The Famous Flames.
